I have to admit that my personal social networking gravitas has evolved to twitter clean form Facebook. The reason, well it just seems more real time than the former. For all of its simplicity Twitter just offers a compelling user experience that you just cannot get with the other popular social networking sites. A huge list of people all conversing in the now – it just doesn’t get any close to reality than that – actually, it is reality – now. Aside from the “wow’ factor of Twitter you will need a nice Twiter client app. You can use twitter’s site for your profile tweets and feed btu haing a nice desktop app just feels better, not to mention you save considerable screen real estate doing so.

I have tried a few different clients, Twitter from the Mac App store, Echofon, and others, but the one that stands out of the crowd for me is Kiwi. Kiwi has a multitude of great features and has one preference setting that most other clients do not offer – themes. You can theme your client with the tens of hundreds available on the Kiwi site and across the net. So do yourself a favor, get in the Mac App store and pick up Kiwi, it costs less than a real Kiwi.
